and they’re off…

it was raining pretty hard when Andrew left for school, so we didn’t take a pic, however, we took this one the day before, when we drove by during our errands. He wouldn’t  get in the pic, afraid someone he knew may see him…lol.  This was my first rainy day first day of school pics ever…guess I’ve been lucky all these years.

Still so hard to believe that he is a freshman…wow!!!!

Wasn’t raining when Matthew left so we got a few pics.  He opted to skip the bus as he wanted to be driven on the first day… so this is his “bus” pic

started lightly raining when Max left, but we managed to get a few pics… he was pretty excited, as he is in 5th grade this year, aka “the top dogs” of the school

Sydney started the following day, as Kindergarten has 2 transition days.

the middle guy

starts middle school.  The day before school started we were able to stop by to meet his homeroom teacher, drop off supplies and practice the locker (and sneak in a pic with the sign, if your mom is a camera nut!)

they’re going back

everyone is ready for school….. in keeping with our annual tradition, here is the sneaker/backpack shot

next stop…

From Niketown, we walked down the street to our next destination… my boys are such troopers.  They love their sister enough to tolerate shopping at American Girl for an hour.  I tell, this girl LOVES this store and this girl is lucky that her brothers love and spoil her the way that they do!  I know I posted out of order because I was behind, but it was this trip that she got her newest American Girl Doll, Lanie and it was during our Boston visit when she got the matching Lanie dress.

Lanie’s nightgown

another successful trip…and no she didn’t get the nightgown too.  She was just “matching” her.

Just do it…

After lunch at Hard Rock we hit the Magnificent Mile for some shopping.  Whenever we are in Chicago there are few places we normally stop in…  first stop…

Niketown, as Shawn wanted to get the newly released Man U soccer Jersey.  Unfortunately they were out of his size, it released a few days before we were there, but he didn’t walk away empty handed…he got a pretty cool shirt.

not sure why she wanted her pic with him, but hey, whatever!

HRC

After we saw the little Rock and Roll exhibit and the fun, memorabilia museum that was located on the 2nd floor of the McD’s, we walked across the street and had lunch.  This was the first time 3 of our 4 had been to a Hard Rock.  They thought it was pretty cool but honestly, they weren’t overly excited, but we didn’t expect them to be.  Maybe we picked to have lunch here more for Shawn and I, lol!

and I thought this light fixture was cool… the best angle would’ve been laying on the floor, directly underneath it but….yeah, the family wouldn’t let me do it.  Plus, it was the entry way during lunch hour…and I didn’t feel like getting stepped on, so this angle will have to do.
