31/365 {you gotta…}

know when to hold them…

Matthew must, because even though it’ s not evident in this pic, Matthew won!

26/365 {Snow much fun}

the last of the tubing pics…

We got to the “hill” around 5pm.  The kids were all psyched and ready to hit the slopes so to speak.  So, after we got all the tickets, we sent everyone on their way…all 123 of them!  Yes, that’s right, our trip included 123 middle school kids, a few siblings and some great chaperones and it all went off without a hitch!  Our numbers were up by close to 30 this year; we were excited about that.  The night was perfect, the air was warmish…close to 40 degrees and those Ugg’s were worth every cent…my feet stayed toasty!  That said, I wasn’t outside the whole 4 hours, my friend, Julie and I did walk up to the ski lodge to grab some dinner, but seriously, they did stay warm.  I will be getting another pair…lol

It was pretty dark and hard to get pics and I was busy hanging with my friend…but I did mange to grab a few snaps of my crew…although none of Andrew….he wouldn’t be seen with me..ha ha.  (that’s not really true but I was trying to be the cool mom and not embarrass him with his friends… ;) )

on the way up the hill…the big light was shining directly in the face… :)

it’s good to the princess and get pulled; they were waiting in line for the up hill people mover…Syd was too tired to walk up the hill.  You can only ride one person per tube but you can connect up to 4 tubes… the kids loved tubing together

after the last run down the hill… he was tired and ready to go home

Josh, Matthew’s bff  was there since his brother is in middle school… good times for my boys and their friend!

{tubing}

A favorite activity among all the boys while we were up north was tubing…and they were lucky enough to do it a bunch of different times…such fun!

get ready… (lovely color cast from the tube…haha)

It’s nice to see that after spending basically the whole summer together, they are still having fun with each other…

(yes, Matthew needs a hair cut, I know…it’s on the things to do list this week)

{Proud to be an American}

2008-july-moa-174e-copy1 OBAMA/

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent Mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.- President Obama (Our favorite line from his speech)

What a great day yesterday was, as our new President took oath and history was made.  I am proud to say I voted for President Obama and I am beyond thrilled that my children got to witness this major historical event.   I am proud to be an American and I look forward to our country moving forward and re-building.

Welcome President Obama and Mrs. Obama (this pic was not taken by me)

{Team Day}

Ok, so let me preface this by saying, I had a whole post written and it magically disappeared…ack!

So, just as my title implies…today was team spirit day. The kids were asked to were clothing from their favorite team… any team… and why were they supposed to wear team themed clothing… to show that we are “teaming up against drugs”. I know some find these days silly, others feel that elem. kids are too young and shouldn’t be exposed to red ribbon week, but I disagree. I think this week sent very valuable messages in a fun way to the kids. Drugs are all over, just look in your medicine cabinet, you don’t know who has older siblings, etc. Our kids know more than we want to believe they know I think… and I personally think..incorporating valuable lessons with things the kids can related is great.

So, as you see… even though we moved… my boy is still faithful to his dad and the NY Rangers…. Max decided he would wear an Admiral shirt to be different from Matthew…since this cute little city of Milwaukee doesn’t have it’s own pro hockey team…it’s ok! The boys may have swayed to the Packers because of Farve and all the hub-bub here but funny enough… now he’s on one of our teams…the Jets…so they are back to routing for NY/NJ team!!!!

Even though I think a valuable message was sent this week I think it’s good that Red Ribbon wrapped up today..the boys are tired of me taking their pics before the bus comes! Just look at this pic..you can tell they were thrilled! Well, that and we were running late this morning so we had to hurry!

PS- Linda….it only took how many years…. but the jersey fits someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO
