{Date Night…(sort of)}

If you like funny movies and haven’t seen “Four Christmases” (it just open on Wed.) I highly recommend it. This was one of the funniest movies we’ve seen in a really long time. It definitely was a light comedy, a no brainer movie but it was FUNNY, really FUNNY!

Last night Shawn and I were able to go to the movies and grab a quick date night…we’ve been to the movies with the kids a few times lately but I can’t even remember the last movie we saw alone in the movies. To be honest, I normally prefer watching a movie in the comfort of my own home, wearing my pj’s… snuggled up on the couch but now with the new, much roomier, more comfortable love seat seating going to the theater isn’t as bad. But to be honest, I still think going to the movies isn’t worth the expense so I will still be selective on what I find to be “theater worthy”.

We were lucky enough to have nice friends of ours watch the 3 younger ones. Andrew was out so he couldn’t babysit and I really wanted to see this movie (and no, I didn’t want to wait…lol) So, I say it was sort of date night, because we dropped the kids off, ran to the movies and scooted right back to their house when it was over but it was great to get out together for a bit without the kids so I am not complaining! And the few glasses of wine/beer we shared after we got back to their house was the icing on the cake last night… I think nights like this need to happen more often!

{mmmm….mmm….good}

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving was small and simple this year…just us. It was a little odd (to be just us) but it was fine. I love Thanksgiving…it is probably my favorite holiday. I love all the cooking and the smells wafting through the house.. mmmm….. and this year was no exception… even though it was just us…I still cooked (and cooked). We had a roaring fire, the house smelled great and the food tasted even better…..

We weren’t the only ones who enjoyed our meal…Sasha enjoyed her first Thanksgiving with us…she thought everything was mmmm…mmm….good!

{Sneak Peak}

Here’s a sneak peak for the C family. Mrs. C is a creative gal and always has vision for her holiday card.
Together we accomplish what she wants…we work great as a team.

We got the snow…and we braved the FREEZING temps…and I think we pulled off exactly what you wanted. I hope you love this as much as I do…with the font you chose. This will definitely make a great card front…and yes, we came up with something as clever as last year…yay us!

{Go Highlanders Go}

Big game tonight…rather a HUGE game tonight… The Homestead Highlanders (our high school) are playing against the same team for the Div. I State Championship for the 3rd year in a row. We won in ’06 and lost last year so this year is like the tie breaker game…lol… who will win…. lots of pressure…like I said HUGE game.

Very different from NJ, high school football is a huge deal around here. Not just this week but always. All the schools have declared today Homestead spirit day…and I am sure this spirit will be over flowing into businesses as well. I am not big into sports but I have to admit that having lots of spirit for the various local teams is pretty fun.

My guy had his idea of exactly how he wanted to look today.. he went all out..

red hair, red face and he even got an “H” on there. Go Andrew for always having fun and being in the spirit and Go Highlanders Go… we wish you luck tonight!

{one more}

In keeping with Michaela’s butterfly theme these last few days, I’d thought I’d post just one more butterfly shot.

{The results are in…}

We quickly learned that while we were in St. Louis we needed to head to…

So after the butterfly house, carousel and lunch this was our next stop. People say the top 2 frozen custard places are Ted Drewes and Kopps. Kopps is right here in Milwaukee so we were good people to do the comparison. Our findings…it’s not comparing apples to apples because at Ted Drewes everything is vanilla based where at Kopps, this is not the case. So, we will just say they are both good in their own ways! (And truth be told…I like Culiver’s better then both of these but my kids would disagree with me) Aside from taste, Ted Drewes custard is known to be called “concrete”, meaning it’s so thick, it won’t fall out the cup. Naturally, my boys had to put this to the test…fortunately, it passed!

Sydney was the only smart one to enjoy her custard right away, she didn’t care if you could hold the cup upside down or not!
