Must be. Every year towards the end of school one of the Brewers players visits. It’s part of the SCORE program (school, community, opportunities, role models and excellency). which promotes being a good person, etc. Well the kids love it.. not only do they meet a different player every year, but some win signed baseballs, tickets, etc. But not to worry, no goes home empty-handed. Every student is given a huge t-shirt. The shirt it self is nothing special but somehow getting all your friends/teachers to sign your shirt has become tradition… fine by me, because my kids only wear thses shirts to bed…
Well yesterday was the day, the boys came wearing their way big, signed tees….with more siggys waiting to be added… I still can’t believe we are almost done with school, 10 days left…

Wishing my baby boy…a happy, happy birthday.

This was one of the pics taken at school when I did the mother’s day mini sessions. Hoping to do bday pics of both my boys this weekend… we’ll see.
While many Americans use this day to BBQ… let’s not forget the real reason of today… we should all take a moment to remember those that lost their lives while serving in the military for our country.

Max’s last science unit in school focused on experiments… each student had to do a different experiment, picked off a given list. They did their experiments at school. I was there to witness some as I was working on the Mother’s Day gifts…some were truly fascinating…almost magical. Anyway, for the half day on Friday, the 3rd grade ended their science unit by making these tie-dye shirts… they discussed the reactions that take place, the effects of the salt, etc… and ended up with a great keepsake. There is something to be said for hands on learning.

BTW, his shirt is this vibrant..and it has been set…so I am guessing they did a great job and it will stay this way.
(I was hoping to go and take pics during this but I came down with some crud on Friday and didn’t make it very far from my bed…finally starting to feel better now…)

Give a hoot, don’t pollute is what I immediately thought of when Matthew brought this home… am I dating myself now??? This wasn’t the lesson that they learned in art class while making these although it’s still valuable… this project tied in with their studies of birds found in WI. They say if you are a bird watcher WI is a fantastic place…I must admit, spying birds is not one of my hobbies.
