{Mount Rushmore}

After spending the whole day at The Badlands, we stoped at the famous Wall Drug.  For those not familiar it is the mid west verison of South of the Border.  You see signs all along the way.  It’s a touristy place with food and gift shops…it was neat.   From there, we drove about an hour, had dinner and finally landed at Mt. Rushmore.  We were pretty beat from spending the whole day out in the heat, but on we marched.  Actually, arriving at dusk was nice, we saw it Mt. Rushmore both in natural light and saw it illuminated by lights.  Pictures don’t do Mt. R justice, it is truly amazing in person, something that everyone should see once.    Here are a few snaps from our visit there…

The kids were pretty high up here..you can’t tell but Shawn need to put them all on his shoulders to get them up..I have some other pics of them by the sign, but I like this one, because it is more fun!

and last but not least, a family shot… taken by a kind stranger.  We look beat and bit disheveled but hey, it was after 9 at night and we were on the go since 9 that morning!

Sneak Peak~ Milwaukee Photographer

I had a really fun session on Sunday with 2 great kids.  We ran into some snags…like the country club we shot in must have just had their sprinklers on, so the ground was really wet and squishy, which eliminated some of the shots I wanted to do… and then there was the wind…and one or 2 other minor things BUT…that said, we had a great shoot and got fantastic shots!  Mom, I think you will be pleased.  Here is a sneak peak of your girl…

{historic days}

Sorry I haven’t posted…have been super busy.  Friday I left my house at 8:50 to drive Syd to school and didn’t return to shortly after 4pm… lately this seems typical of my days.  What was I thinking when I thought school would give me more time…ha ha!

Friday I had the pleasure of joining the 4th grade on their trip to the local historic days program.  I went last year and it was fun…the kids really seem to love it.   Just thought I’d share a few…

{Badlands…part 2}

As I said, I have many pics from the Badlands and if  I can get my act together I will post them in an online album for you to see, but you know me, so don’t hold your breath.  Right outside the exit to the Badlands National Park is the world’s largest pairie dog (he’s made from concrete)…aren’t you jealous you didn’t see it…lol… Seriously though, we did stop, take the obligatory pic  with it and then had real fun while we feed real prairie dogs…
