The other night we took the jingle bus around downtown Milwaukee. This cute, 40 min tour points out the lights around the city (3 major parks and various other lights) as well as gives a great history lesson on the old/historical buildings. Being relatively new to Milwaukee we learned a lot. For $1 a person I would say it is worth it…not only do you get the tour but the kids get coloring books and after the tour you can have a hot cocoa and cookie!
(bummed that Syd and Max fell out of focus, but the lighting in that building sucked so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised…oh well…these fun snaps are about the memory)

after the afternoon recess Matthew’s class continued their winter celebration with make your own sundaes… what a lucky class!!!

Happy Birthday sweet Sydney! Today Sydney turns 5…can’t believe it…time is flying.. Such a lousy day for a birthday but there is nothing we can do about that. Normally we go away to the water park which is loads of fun for all of us, but once we decided to get the puppy, that was the end of that idea for this year. No worries though, her bday is turning out to be just great.
First, she celebrated her birthday in school on Wednesday. It is always so exciting when you get to wear a special crown, be line leader, etc. But what was even more special was mommy stopped in at snack time to celebrate with her and her friends. She brought in red velvet mini cupcakes which were a huge hit…yum!

Then, she was surprised Wednesday night when her Nana and Poppa rang the doorbell…and they said they came to celebrate her birthday with her …she has been in all her glory since their arrival. The boys are pretty happy too! Today, her actual birthday, while somewhat quiet since everything is closed, is turning out just fine…but more on that next time!
Remember my mitten tree project? Well, it wrapped up yesterday and I am happy to say that for a little school (we are a satellite campus of the JCC main preschoool) we did pretty good. We filled our tree and our basket and we gathered over 40 pairs of gloves/mittens, over 20 hats and a bunch of scarves…but more important than the amount we collected was the joy that was shown when I dropped the bags off at Family Services. The volunteers were beyond appreciative…winter is here and they had several families in mind that would benefit from our donation.
