Happy Campers

Not only does the camp post pics every night but newsletters from each unit (a few grades, like 3-5, 6-8, etc.) at minimum once a week, but sometimes more. What’s nice about that is I know pretty much exactly what they are up to. The evening activities have been awesome, the menu (which they occassionally make mention of) seems to be delicious…no wonder they are all such happy campers. And now, IT’S MACCABIAH!!! That’s right, maccabiah, the color war for camp each session. This session’s theme is pirates vs. ninjas. (seems as if my kids (well, my biological kids) are all on the white Ninja’s). The kids have been competing in a variety of competitions throughout the day, and this morning will participate in the all camp relay race. I saw some really fun pics this morning of “the games”…obviously I can’t share them all, but I can share these….
The girl that Matthew and Andrew are both next too (in different pics) is our neighbor…so fun…
oh no, he’s not on the white ninja’s, that’s ok, we still love him…

as promised, camp posted pics from 2 days over night. I was happy to see a few more pics of my boys having a great time… have no idea about the dots/face paint

After the rides at Navy Pier we were quite hot…and a boat ride sounded great. We took the Seadogs river and lake tour. This 75 minute boat took us up through the famous river locks and up the Chicago River. During this portion of the ride the guide pointed out various buildings and the history behind them. We also caught a glimpse of Transformers 3 being filmed. Once we were done with the river, we hit the lake for a speed boat ride… the kids loved this part and truth be told so did I because the spray from the lake was quite cooling and very welcomed!

first day since my kids left that I haven’t seen pics of them…but that is not because they weren’t in any, I don’t know. A severe storm rumbled through their neck of the woods last night (at least it was during the night and didn’t ruin the weather during the day, because now they are back to good weather). Anyway, due to the storm they put the server off line. They said tonight they would upload yesterday and todays pics… so stay tuned.
I will back later with more Chicago pics… so be sure to check back….
letters from camp

Well, the pics uploaded over night were dramatically less than the last few days, I guess that since we all know the kids have settled in and are having fun they don’t need to take as many, lol. Seriously, they were averaging posting 400 pics, and this morning there were only about 140. But fortunately for me, my boys still managed to be in some…
We rec’d our first letter yesterday, it was from Andrew. We learned he has swim first thing in the morning… at least I know why he looks so cold, especially since the last few nights have been pretty chilly up north.
